An optional IP scanner can be connected to each production station. Data from the scanner is transferred directly to the database decision maker process. Responses from the decision maker process can be transferred back to an S7 PLC.

If supported by the scanner, a so-called heartbeat can be configured to monitor the connection to the TCP/IP connection.

A production station can monitor a scanner or only one of them.
