In 2004, we developed a communication system for Reifen Gundlach that exchanged data between the production plant and their ERP system NAVISION. Data was read from several Simatic S7 modules in the production process and then transferred to NAVISION. In the opposite direction, data was then returned from NAVISION to the Simatic for further production.

Later, the control of a camera was added for documentation and data from scanners.

This original system was developed as a 32-bit system in C++. NAVISION is now called Microsoft NAV and our application has been replaced by our new product spsXChange, which runs as a 64-bit JAVA application on a server, communicates with the Siemens Simatic and offers the same functions.

In addition, a monitoring interface and administrator interface has been added, which can be accessed anywhere within the company via a browser. Even from mobile devices.

Our Simatic/NAV system spsXChange was installed at alwitra GmbH.

With spsXChange, data from production is linked directly with data from the Microsoft NAV ERP. Data is sent from NAV to Siemens Simatic and production data is sent back to NAV.

Alwitra produces flat roof systems for international use.


Kodak Polychrome Graphics

We have developed a barcode system for Kodak Polychrome Graphics to ensure the quality control of the offset printing plates they produce.

From the time a plate is first cut to the final packaging and despatch to the customer, a barcode is repeatedly printed on the product. This barcode shows the time of production, the production machine and the product. This allows the quality of entire batches to be monitored at any time.

In addition, the produced goods are stored via an Oracle database and later reported to the central AS/400 . During production, there is intensive communication with the Simatic S7 , which controls production.
