Our spsXChange application enables

  1. Communication between an external application, e.g. a database application, and a Siemens Simatic, which is used to control production processes.

  2. The monitoring of the communication process with optional email notification in the event of problems.

  3. Visualisation of the data transfer between Simatic and external application

  4. Optional evaluation and transmission of scanner data in the production process.

  5. Optional monitoring of the production process with IP camera.

  6. Optional image documentation in database for finished products.

  7. Optional automatic sending of emails in the event of problems.

For example, information can be read from a Simatic, transferred to an external decision making process and then new information can be written to the same or another location in the Simatic. The same process can be carried out with scanner data.

spsXChange was originally developed to monitor and control a production line. Monitoring and control takes place via communication with individual Simatic S7 modules at relevant positions. Data is also exchanged with a Microsoft NAV system in order to make decisions for the individual steps and document production in the ERP. Finally, an image of the finished product is stored in a database via an IP camera.

Any errors/problems that occur can optionally be transmitted by email to an email address.

The entire process can be monitored via a browser, even from mobile devices such as smart phones.

To be as independent as possible of the operating system used, spsXChange was developed in Java. This allows it to be used on Windows as well as on server operating systems such as UNIX or Linux.
